A total of 39 new COVID-19 cases, all of them imported from abroad, and three more deaths were confirmed on the Chinese mainland as of Thursday midnight, according to China's National Health Commission. The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 80,967, while the cumulative death toll is now at 3,248. On the same day, Chinese health authorities said 730 patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 71,150. The Health Commission of Hubei Province, where Wuhan is the capital, said the total confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Wuhan and Hubei remained at 50,005 and 67,800 by Thursday.
