A medicine company in north China's Tianjin Municipality is under investigation for allegedly making false claims in its advertisements, local authorities said Friday. "The preliminary investigation confirms that the medicine company Quanjian has been exaggerating the effects of some of its products," said Kang Yi, vice mayor of Tianjin, head of the investigation team. "Further investigation is still underway, and the investigation results will be released to the public in a timely manner," he said. Earlier on Thursday, Tianjin launched an investigation into the Quanjian Nature Medicine Technology Development Co., Ltd. after an outburst online accused the company of making false claims in its advertisements and of being involved in a pyramid scheme, citing that the exaggerated advertisements might have led to the death of a four-year-old girl who had cancer in 2015. |
