OTTAWA, Jan. 2 -- Canada on Saturday condemned the bombing in Pakistan that killed 93 people, pledging to work with the Pakistani government in their fight against terrorism. "Canada strongly condemns this cowardly attack on the people of Pakistan...That many of the victims were innocent civilians enjoying a sporting event makes this attack even more contemptible," Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon said in a statement. "We continue to work with the government of Pakistan in the fight against violent extremist groups," he said. The attack happened in a remote village in northwest Pakistan. The victims were attending a volleyball game. |
