XI'AN, Jan. 1 -- A firecrackers explosion killed eight people and injured another eight in northwest China's Shaanxi Province Friday, local authorities said. The accident took place at about 3:20 p.m. in the Yilong Village of Sanhe Township, in Pucheng County, the Shaanxi provincial government said in a statement. Local work safety, police and health authorities have dispatched emergency staff to the village, the statement said. No further details were provided. |
