(Photo/worldskillschina.cn) Team China has achieved its best ever performance at this year's WoldSkills competition, bagging 15 gold, 7 silver, 8 bronze and 12 medallions of excellence. The 15 gold medals put China on top of the gold medal tally. Fifty-two Chinese contestants with an average age of less than 21 years old have taken part in the now-concluded five-day event in Abu Dhabi. They participated in 47 competitions in six categories, including transportation and logistics, structure and building technology, manufacturing and engineering technology, information and communications technology, creative art and fashion as well as social and personal services. Dubbed the "Skills Olympics," WorldSkills was founded in 1950 and is held biannually. China first took part in the competition in 2011 and this is the fourth time that team China has attended the event. It was revealed early that the 46th WorldSkills Competition would be held in the Chinese city of Shanghai in 2021.
