JINAN, East China, Oct. 17 -- World champion Li Ping of Hunan crushed three world records in the women's 53kg weightlifting competition at the 11th Chinese National Games here on Saturday. Li, 21, lifted 103kg in her third snatch, one kilogram more than the world record set by DPR Korea's Ri Song-hui in 2002. In the clean and jerk, she hoisted 132kg in the last attempt with ease, which was three kilos more than the world record of 129kg created by herself in the Asian Championships two years ago. Her total lift of 235kg was also nine kilos more than the world record of the kind. Li took the limelight as she won the gold medals in the 2005 and2007 world championships. The world record lift will not be counted as they are not accepted by the International Weightlifting Federation. |
