KABUL, Sept. 26 -- Four anti-government militants who planned to attack a border police checkpoint in Nangarhar province of eastern Afghanistan, were shot dead after identified by police on Friday, a statement of Interior Ministry said on Saturday. "Four militants driving a vehicle tried to attack the checkpoint of border police in Dur Baba district on Friday," the statement said. Police foiled their attempts by shooting the rebels dead on the spot, it added. There was no causality on police forces, it said. Taliban militants fighting Afghan and international troops have yet to make comments. |
