KABUL, July 2 -- A roadside bomb struck the vehicle of sitting female lawmaker Fauzia Kofi, injuring four policemen, in northeast Badakhshan province Thursday but she escaped unhurt, an official said. "It occurred at 11:00 a.m. (0630 GMT) when a roadside bomb hit the vehicle of Ms. Kofi in Shahr-e-Buzarg district, injuring one police officer and three constables, who were working for Kofi as security guards," provincial police chief Aqa Noor Kintoz told Xinhua. Meantime, Zabihullah Mujahid who claims to speak for the Taliban outfit in talks with media via telephone from unknown location said that militants carried out the attack killing six of her bodyguards.
