BEIJING, May 22 -- Asia's largest aluminium exhibition, Aluminium China 2009, will open on June 30 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The exhibition, which runs until July 2, is expected to draw 10,000 industry buyers and more than 300 aluminium companies from 30 countries. Breakthroughs were expected in both the size of the exhibition and the number of exhibitors and visitors, said Liu Guoliang, vice president of the event's sponsor, Reed Exhibitions China. China produced 1.36 million tonnes of aluminium products in March 2009. The output in the first quarter reached 3.44 million tonnes, down 3.5 percent year on year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. |
