Algerian Minister of State and Personal Representative of President Abdelaziz Belkhadem on Saturday reaffirmed rejection to the foreign interference in Libya. "We reject foreign interference and we believe that the measures adopted so far do not go in that direction. In addition, we are afraid that what is happening in Libya is an episode of a long series that began in Sudan and only the perpetrators of this horrible plan know when it will stop," said Belkhadem. Belkhadem, who is also the secretary general of Algerian ruling party National Liberation Front (FLN), made the remarks at a meeting of the party's central committee. To recall, Algeria Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci has already warned of the existence of foreign agenda seeking to break the countries of the region through the Libyan crisis. Medelci has also reaffirmed the refusal of Algeria to any foreign intervention in the region under any pretext. Belkhadem said his party would be with the brotherly Libyan people and supported their right to choose a solution to safeguard the security and sovereignty of Libya. "Algerians would never forget to help their Libyan brothers and neighbors, with whom we share the same history and the same religion," he said. "FLN can only be on the side of the Libyan people, and their right to find a way out to this crisis, where their sovereignty and security should be preserved," Belkhadem stressed. |
