(ECNS) -- Zhang Yiming, founder of ByteDance topped the latest Hurun China Rich List, according to Hurun Research Institute on Tuesday. The 41-year-old entrepreneur's wealth increased by 105 billion yuan from last year to reach 350 billion yuan in 2024, making him the richest man in China. Founder of Nongfu Spring, 70-year-old Zhong Shanshan’s wealth decreased by 110 billion yuan from last year, quitting the top spot he held for three years to rank second. Tencent's 53-year-old Ma Huateng saw his wealth increase by 35 billion yuan compared to last year, with 315 billion yuan, ranking third, thanks to the performance of gaming, advertising, and cloud services. This year, 1,094 entrepreneurs with personal wealth exceeding 5 billion yuan were listed on the Hurun Rich List, a 12 percent decrease from last year’s 147 individuals. The total wealth of all listed entrepreneurs amounted to 21 trillion yuan, a 10 percent decrease from last year (2.4 trillion yuan). The number of billionaires decreased by four from last year to 26. The number of ten-billion-dollar entrepreneurs also decreased by 142 from last year to 753. Wahaha's successor, 42-year-old Zong Furui, replaced Kuang Xiaoqing as the richest woman in China, with a wealth of 81 billion yuan. |
