A light plane crashed during the air show in West Java of Indonesia on Friday morning and the pilot was seriously injured, military officers said. The plane belonged to Indonesian aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia, a press officer at the military headquarters Colonel Prakoso told Xinhua. "The plane flew too low so that one of its wings touched the ground when it tried to fly up, then the plane crashed," Saleh Sudrajat, one of the pilots at the air show was quoted by local television as saying. The plane, manufactured in 1998, was broken, he said. As many as 137 planes from Indonesian Air force, Army and PT Dirgantara Indonesia are taking part in the air show. |
